Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to provide you with a holistic understanding of mindfulness and meditation, underpinned by the wisdom of both Buddhist and Hindu traditions. The program entails:
• Engaging Assignments: Dive into enriching assignments that comprise 35 hours of immersive Zoom training, serving as a bridge between in-person workshops
• In-Person Workshops: Embark on a journey of approximately 165 hours, spread across six weekends of in-person workshops. These weekends are carefully curated to provide a profound experiential understanding of the subject matter.
• Historical Meditation Insights: Gain insights into the key principles of historical meditation methods, spanning across Buddhist and Hindu traditions. This foundation will equip you with a deep understanding of the origins and nuances of these practices.
To Earn Your Certificate:
• Workshop Attendance: To earn your well-deserved certificate, attend a minimum of five out of the six workshops. While we highly recommend participating in all six workshops to maximize your learning, we understand the demands of life and offer flexibility.
• Hands-On Training: Immerse yourself in the practical aspect of teaching. During one or more sessions, you'll have the unique opportunity to facilitate a guided meditation class or similar activities, all while under the observant guidance of a seasoned monk.

Option 1 - Total Cost: $2700 ( $2500 if paid in full by December 31st 2023)

Fees will cover lodging and food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) expenses, and guest teacher travel expenses. The meals will be Vegan. Please let us know if you have any additional food restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate you. You may also provide your own meals if needed.
Training Schedule
Immerse yourself in a transformative journey at the serene Metta Meditation Retreat Center located in Janesville, MN. Our in-person retreats offer a profound opportunity to delve deep into the teachings of mindfulness and meditation. Each retreat spans a weekend, commencing at 6:00 pm on Friday and concluding at 3:00 pm on Sunday. Participants seeking an extended experience can opt to stay on Sunday night, with check-out scheduled before 10:00 am on Monday morning.
Feb 9-11: Overview and Historical Context Embark on your journey with an insightful overview of the program. This workshop delves into the roots of mindfulness, exploring its historical evolution and the diverse pathways it has taken in Eastern traditions. Our focus will be on "Understanding, Practicing, and Mastering Mindfulness Meditation."
Mar 15-17: The Student-Teacher Dynamic Learn the art of being both a dedicated student and an effective teacher. This retreat delves into various Buddhist teaching methodologies, drawing wisdom from several suttas to guide our exploration.
May 31-June 2: Journey towards Bodhisattva Discover the profound concept of the Bodhisattva, one who strives for enlightenment. We'll study Buddhist Sutras to gain a deeper understanding of the Buddhist way of life and cultivate the Bodhisattva mindset.
Aug 9-11: Unveiling the Triple Gem Explore the significance of the Triple Gem – The Buddha, The Dhamma, and The Sangha. Delve into the wisdom and practices associated with each, enhancing your understanding and practice.
Sep 27-29: Forging a Mindful Community This retreat focuses on the creation and sustenance of a Mindful Community. Explore diverse approaches to community development and the guiding principles that foster its growth.
Dec 6-8: Insight Meditation and Cultivating the Mind Emerge as a lifelong teacher with a focus on mindfulness. Dive deep into Insight Meditation (Bhavana) and the cultivation of a cultivated mind.

Requirements
Minimum 1-year weekly meditation or more than 3 residential retreats under a qualified teacher.
You will have to submit a recommendation letter from your teacher if you are not part of Triple Gem community. If you are unable to provide a letter, please email us about your situation.
